In this world of modern technology, social networking sites have made a humongous leap in technology for man-kind. There are numerous social networking sites in the world, varying different purposes and each of them competing for profits in the dog-eat-dog world. To the benefit of the world and its mortal masses, it has brought forth much joy and benefits for us. Much as most of their purposes, they managed to connect the largely dissipated masses in the world through intellectual usage of the Internet. Alas, praises and sing-song aside, it is, unfortunately, a double-edged sword. Many have suffered, one way or another, the most basic being addiction, to cyber bullying. There are many benefits and disadvantages of social networking sites, just how on uses it. Like fire, it is a good servant, but a bad master.
Majority of the users in social networking sites are students. Though most are age-restricted, most students easily bypass them using dishonesty. Though there are obvious disadvantages, there are also as much advantages. For example, social networking sites help students unwind from the stressful education system. After a long and stressful day at school, students can always rely on them to de-stress. However, this an disadvantage too, meaning that students need to rely on social networking sites to de-stress, and not using other more beneficial recreation methods to de-stress.
